Aloha from Maui!!!

After a long day of delays waiting for a long flight, we finally made it to Maui. I watched the weather report on the 10p.m. news on Thursday night and the weatherman said that a storm was expected to hit the Wasatch Front between 11a.m. & 2p.m. Our flight was scheduled to leave at 11:40a.m. so I was a little worried the storm would hit before we left but I wasn't too concerned. Friday morning we woke up and were getting ready to run some errands before going to the airport when we received a call from Delta informing us the flight was rescheduled to depart at 5p.m, which was definitely after the time which the snow storm would hit Salt Lake. As we waited the snow began to fall, and fall, and fall some more. By the time we drove to the airport the roads were horrible and I feared our flight would be cancelled or delayed further so I was pretty stressed out, I don't handle anticipation well as my family and Carissa can attest (i.e. I ruin most Christmas surprises) Here's a pic of Brian & Justin waiting patiently at the airport.

We boarded our plane about 6p.m. and we finally took off at 7p.m. and arrived in Maui around 10p.m. Hawaii time. After picking up luggage, the rental car, driving to the hotel & checking in we finally got to bed about 4a.m. Mountain time, but we made it!

Saturday morning we ate breakfast and laid in the sun overlooking the ocean. It felt so nice not to have to stress about work, or school, or finals, or my internship, or the primary program or anything else... It felt like the huge burden was lifted and it is time to have fun!

After laying out we headed over to our zipline excursion.
Half of the fun was going up the mountain and looking over the Hawaiian islands and ocean. The excursion included 4 ziplines and a giant swing. Here are a few pictures and videos from the trip:

Traditions, TRADITIONS

Making Santa Cookies

My mom volunteered to make Santa Cookies for our Hardy Party last Friday. I bet she will think twice before she makes that mistake again. My mom, Aleisha, Kyle (Aleisha Boy Toy) and me spent many hours making the traditional Santa cookie. My mom comes from a big family so we had to make 65 Santa Cookies but we had a lot of fun doing it!

Home for Christmas

I thought i would post some pictures of my decorating skills for Christmas, I don't have too many decorations but I try and pick up some each year! Our Stocking hung with care......

I know our tree looks sad but, since Aaron and I are not going to be home for Christmas we decided to put up a small pencil tree. Hopefully next year we will get a real tree, I just love the smell of them.

Merry Christmas.........

Long time no blog

Okay, so Aaron and I have been extremely busy the past couple of months. We have had hardly any free time and when we do we just crash on the couch. Aaron is finally winding down with his Semester at the U of U. He took his last big test on Wednesday and did awesome on it. Aaron is still doing his internship and has to write a 14-page research paper so that he can get his credits. He will continue to do the radio talk show on Saturday’s until February 2009.

I absolutely love the holidays and all the fun stuff that comes with it. I love getting together with family and friends, decorating for Christmas, and listening to Holiday music. On Sunday we had Aaron’s sister Jessica and her family came over for a yummy Christmas dinner! They brought our new little niece Morgan who is so adorable. It was nice to see them before they go to Spokane to be with family for Christmas.

A New Addition to our Family

Aaron and I have been so busy and stressed out with things decided that we needed a getaway for a night so we ventured up to Park City on Saturday. Saturday morning Aaron had his radio show and I went with my mom and sister up to Heber to see my cousin Hunter get baptized. After that Aaron and I met at the outlet mall and did a little shopping. One of our main goals for our shopping trip was to get Aaron swimsuits for our Hawaii trip next month. We ended up getting him 3 new ones and spent like $15 a piece for them. It was nice that most of the stores were trying to get rid of their swim suites. We enjoyed dinner at Baja Cantina and dessert at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. We got to our hotel and just relaxed the whole time. We went hot tubing and swimming in the nice warm pool, watched movies, caught up on Prison Break, and I made Aaron do a facemask with me. I took a picture but he said he would be mad at me if I put it on the blog so I wont. I realized that for me it’s nice to getaway because at home I feel like I have to be cleaning or doing something but when I’m at a hotel I can just sit and not worry about anything.

Aaron and I woke up to a text that announced that we were officially Aunt Carissa and Uncle Aaron. Aaron sister Jessica and her husband Ryan had their baby Sunday morning. They had a girl and named her Morgan Robinson! After we checked out of the hotel we drove down to Provo to see our new little niece. She was so tiny and precious. It was so cute when Aaron was holding her because he got so emotional looking at her. It was honestly so touching to see him hold this little baby. When we left the hospital we got so excited for us to have a family, but for now we will just have to spoil our new little niece.

Blast from the Past

My mom and I for Halloween thought it would be fun to put on my old cheer uniforms and have some Halloween spirit. I think my dad and Aaron were entertained by our cheers we kept preforming. Haha

Aleisha's Growing up

Aleisha is growing up so fast, she is a senior this year at Woods Cross High and going to be turning 18 in a couple weeks. Woods Cross High School is known for their drama department and this year they are putting on the play Beauty and the Beast. Aleisha was so excited when she made the part of Babette (AKA the Feather Duster). This year the play will be in February instead of November. We are all very excited to see it!

Just this last Saturday Aleisha went to the homecoming dance with Kyle Larson. I love my sister and hope she enjoys her Senior year of High School!

Girls Night Out!

It was a Girls Night Out on Tuesday with my Mom, Aleisha and my Aunt Melissa. We went to “So you think you can dance” that was touring with season 4 top thirteen dancers. The concert was so entertaining and jam-packed with so many amazing dances! They did all of my favorite dances like the GARDEN danced by Courtney and Mark, the dance with a Door - DUFFY danced by Twitch and Katee, but the dance that stole the show was the BRIEF CASE dance danced by Chelsea and Mark. This dance was so powerful and emotional to watch. By the end of the show my voice was lost from screaming so much. It was so fun to see our hometown people dance…Gev, Chelsie, and Thayne. You can tell that Utah has a lot of talent.
Girls night out was a lot of fun and I can’t wait for next season of So you think you can dance!

UPDATE: Busy, Top of Utah & Someone is Prego

The month of September has been really busy for Aaron and I. After our fun vacation to Disneyland it's been nothing but GO GO GO! We were sad to come back from our vacation to find that our ward had split and we don't know if they will need us to teacher our primary class, which made Aaron and I really sad. We love our kids and happy that we were asked to teach this Sunday until they figure out what is going to happen.

This weekend is “The Top of Utah Marathon” in Logan and I have 7 family members running it. My Mom, Dad, uncle Scott, uncle Todd, aunt Melissa, uncle Matt, and my uncle Chris. This is going to be my uncle Chris' first Marathon and we are way excited for him! Good luck this weekend Marathoners!

I also wanted to mention that our cute friends Katie & Kole Sorenson are prego with not just One baby but TWO. Katie is having TWIN boy & girl and is due Feb 1, 2009. We are so excited for them and ready and willing to help when the babies come along.

HARD WORKER

I'm so proud of my husband! Aaron is such a hard worker and is really stretched to the limit this semester. Aaron was recommended by his political communications professor to the Hinckley Institute & Senator Howard Stephenson for an internship this semester. He has been working with the Senator for about a month now producing a radio talk show that takes place on Saturday morning from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. Their first show was last Saturday September 6th and went really well. The show is called "Inside Utah Politics: Setting the Record Straight" and the concept for the show is to give the Utah State Legislators and other elected officials the chance to set the record straight on erroneous and biased media coverage. Aaron is putting in 20+ hours a week for this internship and is working full time at Symantec down in Lindon and not to mention that he is taking a Spanish class 2 nights a week up at the U of U. He is one busy man! I keep asking what I can do to help and he keeps saying "Can you put more hours in the day" I told him I would try.
***If you would like tune into the show its K Talk Radio on Channel AM 630***

Disneyland Family Vacation

What an amazing vacation we had in California for Labor Day weekend. We left on Saturday and returned on Wednesday night. 27 members of the Hardy clan (My Mom's side of the family) joined us for the trip which added to the fun & experience. The main reason for us all adventuring down there was the Disneyland Half Marathon which 18 of us ran. Disney does such a great job with their marathons and of course running with my mom we took a lot of great photos with Disney characters. After we had all finished the half marathon my Mom surprised us with WICKED tickets for that evening in LA, I think that this play was the highlight of the trip. WICKED was so good it gave me chills, Aaron also loved it and we can't wait to see it again in April at the Capital Theatre in Salt Lake. It was such a wonderful surprise and made running a half marathon soooo worth it! We spent the next 2 days playing in Disneyland from morning when the park opened till close. Aaron and I had so much fun and loved all the memories that we had from our family trip. Here are some highlight of our trip…….
