Easter

We celebrated Easter on Saturday night because Justin had to teach on Sunday up in Logan where he goes to school. My mom had cooked a delicious steak dinner with baked potato's, salad, veggies and rolls. We were all surprised when my mom brought out a basket of Easter eggs and said that we were going on an Easter hunt. I was so excited, I had not been on a Hunt since I was young. My mom had put money in most of the eggs along with gift cards hidden everywhere. It made me feel like a little girl running around! Justin made out with the most money and gift cards, he had swift legs, as Grandma Hardy would say! Easter was really fun this year, thanks mom!

Project

This weekend we took on a project, PAINTING! We started to paint the baseboards in our house. This is something that I have wanted to do for a while and finally got things started. Aaron and  I are taking it one room at a time  so we don't get overwhelmed. We finished our front room and our next task will be to start painting the entry way. Don't worry I had a little help, Jackson kept sitting on my lap to keep me company, well chew his bone!

I did most of the painting cause Aaron was supposedly doing homework, but I'm not sure about that..... I caught him playing guitar a few times.

WOODS CROSS DANCE COMPANY

Woods Cross Dance Company concert was last Monday and Tuesday night. We thought we would walk down memory lane and go see what we loved to do 7 years ago. Before the concert Heather, Lyndie and I met at Cafe Rio for dinner one of my favorite places to eat and then met up with Brittany at Wood Cross. The concert was really enjoyable to watch and it was also fun to have a girls night out. The concert theme was based on the 1960's and highlighted events like Woodstock, The Vietnam War and movements like the Civil Rights. One of my favorite dances they performed was to a Beatles mix.  My sister Aleisha is now dancing in dance company and loves it! This is a picture of her and Malissa, one of her good friends.

Last two 200 section Jack seats!!!

Saturday morning I left class at about 9:55am on a mission to get to the closest Smiths grocery store to purchase Jack Johnson tickets. Tickets went on sale at 10am for Jack's concert at Usana Amphitheatre on August 18th. I got to the Smiths at about 10:06am and there was a line to get tickets. I waited about 20 minutes till it was my turn and I asked for the GA 200 seats. (Basically there are four sections: the Pit which is standing up front, 200 seats are the closest seats, 300 seats which are further back and then behind those seats in of the amphitheater is the lawn, from my experience this is usually were hippies gather and noodle dance and pollute our not so clean Utah air with their hippy funk) I was aiming for the 200 seats because it's nice to sit during the opening acts and stand for Jack. Anyways when I got up to the lady I asked for the two hundred level tickets and she said they were all gone, all that were left were 300 seats and lawn. Right when she was saying that she said, ''hey, I just had some 200 level seats open up!" So I grabbed them and later I got online to see what was available and all the 200 level seats and pit were sold out! I'm pretty excited, I should have assumed that they would have sold out so quick, Jack is huge now. I remember seeing Jack open for Ben Harper back in 2001.. The first time I saw him I thought he was okay, but later that year I saw him in Utah at the Delta Center with Ben and I thought he was good but I didn't anticipate him getting this popular. I can see how his music can appeal to people with different musical tastes and different age groups. I was hoping that Mason Jennings and G. Love would be opening for him, I saw that they are opening for him on his European tour and that would have been ideal, but Rogue Wave and Neil Halstead are opening for him. Carissa and I were considering going to Sasquatch Festival up at the Gorge in WA. I love the Gorge, it has the most incredible views of the Columbia River Basin

Here's another pic of the Gorge..

Hey this is when I saw Jack Johnson at the Gorge a couple years ago..

I miss Washington but I've been able to find the things that I love about Utah. I've enjoyed our canoe and rafting trips on the Colorado River - Kenz I'm trying to talk your Dad & Scott into setting something up this summer ;-) Hunting up Nine Mile Canyon was fun, Zions, Moab & Goblin Valley were great trips, we want to do Bryce Canyon for sure this year.

One more thing, so I went with Carissa's brother Justin to Guitar Center were he purchased his first guitar! He knows some chords and some songs and I think he'll really pick it up fast. A man needs a guitar, or two. I did my usual drool session over the Breedlove acoustics. Martin & Gibson's are great, but I really love what breedlove has done. If you want to check out their instruments here's a link. www.breedloveguitars.com  Soon enough I'll be jamming on my own. Well I'm off to bed, goodnight!

Tradition

Photobucket

It has come a tradition for our anniversary that I make Aaron a calendar. This year I was able to make it on our Mac computer, which was way fun and easy. It took me half the time it usually takes me when I would scrapbook the calendar. Aaron loves this tradition I started and takes the calendar to work to put at his desk. Happy Anniversary Babe!

The Weekend

Our Anniversary is on Monday so we thought it would be fun to celebrate over the weekend. Aaron took me to the Gateway Mall and let me pick out an outfit from Express, which is one of my favorite places to shop! Aaron had never eaten at Thaifoon so we decided to eat there. As our waitress came over and introduced herself we both looked at each other and realized we knew each other. Our waitress was Brennan (Hessions) Feller.  It was fun talking with her and catching up on what was new in her life. We told her it was our Anniversary so at the end of our meal she brought out a delicious chocolate volcano dessert. It was really fun seeing Brennan!

When Aaron got home from class on Saturday he was very proud to tell me that he was one of three people to get an A on his mid-term for the Analysis of Argumentation class. Great Job babe, you get a gold star!

Aaron and I had a good weekend and to top it off we were lucky to get a calling in our ward. We got called to teach the 5 & 6 year olds in Primary. We are really excited for this calling - well as Aaron said "We got caught and sentenced to Primary."

Jackson's 1st Birthday!

I know what you are thinking we need to have a baby, but a dog will have to do for now. It was Jackson's 1st birthday yesterday. We adopted him last May and had many adventures with him since. For his big day we bought him a doggy dessert and a new bone for him to chew. We used to buy him stuff animals but he destroys them in a matter of minutes and then we were left picking up the stuffing all over our house. We love our little buddy!

I'm so glad it's finally March

I have been extremely disappointed that this global warming thing turned out to be a scam. I mean I went and bought shorts last week hoping to wear them this week but no, still coat and pants weather. If the planet doesn't start warming up soon I think Carissa and I will have to migrate south to a warmer climate. Well today is Jackson's first birthday! We got him one of those doggy dessert wet dog food treats. I liked dogs before we got Jackson but the little bastard has grown on me. I love when I get home and Jackson is upstairs and he gets crazy excited to see me. I also like when I say something to him and he tilts his head sideways. Or when we say Car Ride and he runs under the bed or to his kennel because he hates car rides.

So our Anniversary is coming up next Monday and it's my year to plan our celebration. I can't believe we've been married 3 years, wow! I can't believe how fast time flies. I'm sure it's been long and painful for Carissa but I've enjoyed it! :-) Well I've got to take a test, I'm out.
